Hello Anna,
I feel sure you know this but regarding communication with the beat officer the next advancement was the introduction of personal radios instigated by Lancashire constabulary and named the LANCON which was in collusion with MOTOROLA

Yesterday 19/08/2010 I visited the police museum in Chatham dockyard and had a brilliant visit with the now curator Anna, She has dowloaded a series of photographs from the dog section of the 1960 decade. If anyone is interested in this time scale I shall be delighted to hear from you
Very kind regards,
Jim Cox.

My Great Great Grandfather, Frederick Masters was a police constable in Margate
(1861-1885) before he emigrated to the USA. He was in the Queens 16th Lancers for 14 years prior to joining the police.

I am seeking info on or about my grandfather (Frederick Pepper) who according to his marriage certificate 1904(to Rachel Rook of Ospringe) and army discharge papers served in the kent Police(Sandwich) area. He could well have been dismissed for drink related problems? I cease to be surprised at events from my passed.
Any help would be appreciated

I enjoyed looking through the photo archive. I was actually looking to see if I could find anything out about my late grandfather Samuel Baker, who was PC 8 of Maidstone. I noticed there was one photo labelled PC Baker, but was unable to tell if it was him or not.

Hi John,
Brilliant site and its great to live through some of the memories in it. Recognised many of the other emailers to you, and hope all are enjoying retirement, as indeed Sue and I are in Devon.
I'll dig out the phot os next time I venture into the loft and send you some. Quite a few of the Cadet Training days in the 60 and 70's still about.
Best wishes
Bill

Webmaster comments   Hello Bill,
John has now retired from the musuem, but still volunteers here. I will make sure he sees this.
Best wishes,
Anna Derham, Curator

Hi Bill,
I still have manager rights, so here I am.
Yes I am enjoying retirement, but have offered my services as volunteer.
Anna is doing a fine job as Curator, and she will no doubt love the pictures and any memorabilia you might have for the museum.
I still look after the picture gallery as part of my 'volunteer duties', and am now putting some pictures of senior officers in their folder. However, I do not have any of you, especially when you made Super!
Look after yourself.
Yours in friendship,
John
